For the final post in my series with The Confetti Bar, I decided to go big. The Confetti Bar offers giant wall confetti, and the combination of giant and confetti felt irresistible. Instead of attaching confetti flat to the wall, I made it appear to float using clear fishing line. The result is a playful, eye-catching photobooth backdrop perfect for parties — and a fantastic hostess gift. Package the backdrop strands, some washi tape for hanging, and a few fun props, and you’ll have a photobooth-in-a-box that beats another bottle of wine.

The Confetti Bar also sells confetti wands — little magic sticks packed full of confetti that you can flick to shower the room in color. They’re a great complement to the floating backdrop and add movement and fun to photos.

Let’s get started.

Supplies:
Giant wall confetti (includes glue dots)
Fishing line or sturdy clear thread
Scissors
Props, envelopes or treat bags, washi tape and a box (for packaging as a gift)
Make each floating strand separately. Cut a length of fishing line to your desired drop — a typical ceiling is about 8 feet, so use that as a guide if you want floor-to-ceiling strands. Slip one confetti circle under the fishing line and secure it with a glue dot, then sandwich that glue dot with a second confetti circle. Continue adding confetti and glue dots down the line, spacing them however you like. Repeat for as many strands as needed; I used nine strands to cover about a six-foot-wide area.

If you’re packaging the photobooth as a gift, wrap each strand individually so the recipient can easily hang them. Fold a strand and slide it into an envelope or treat bag, then seal with washi tape. This also makes storage simple for future use.

What to include in your photobooth box:
Floating confetti backdrop strands
Confetti wands
Giant beach ball
Donuts (or other edible props)
Washi tape for hanging

To hang the strands, tape them to the ceiling or use small removable hooks. If the strands are long, you can also secure them to the floor for stability. Once they’re up, start snapping photos and have fun styling the scene.

A little photo narrative adds extra charm: start by sneaking a few donuts, get “caught” in confetti jail, make a dramatic escape, and then run off together with your treats. It’s a playful sequence that highlights how much fun this backdrop creates.
