Dessert tables are one of my favorite event trends — I hope they never go away. They offer so many choices and so many chances to DIY. This pink-and-black polka dot dessert bar was created for my cousin’s bridal shower, and I made nearly every sweet on display. Read to the end for a free dessert label printable.

Here’s what we served: strawberry pop-tart pops, chocolate-covered brownie bites, mini raspberry cupcakes, mini strawberry pies, sugar cookie bars, chocolate-covered pretzels, raspberry trifles, and cake truffles. When it comes to desserts in my family, we don’t hold back.

I also made simple decor items to match the pink-and-black polka dot theme. Garlands were crafted from circles punched from scrapbook paper and strung together by threading black string through each circle. I used the same patterned paper to create flags for the brownies and both flags and wrappers for the mini pies. These small details really pull a dessert table together.

I designed all of the paper goods for Krista’s shower and wedding, using the same black-and-pink elements from the invitation to make coordinated dessert labels. It’s a fun way to preview the wedding aesthetic for guests. The circle labels I made are available as a free printable—download, print on cardstock, fold along the top of the circle, and cut around the edge through both layers while leaving about 1/2 to 1 inch attached at the top. Write or stamp the dessert names on the labels, then attach them to toothpicks or small flags for a polished look.

For favors, we provided polka dot take-out boxes so guests could bring home leftover treats. If there’s one thing I know for sure, people love free food — myself included.
Planning your own dessert bar? Choose a consistent color palette and a mix of textures and sizes: small cupcakes, handheld pies, bite-sized bars, and items on sticks create visual interest. Simple paper garlands, matching labels, and take-home boxes make the display feel intentional and memorable.
