Hi—Hannah from Homemade Banana here with a cheerful little project to brighten your desk. When I’m vintage shopping I collect playful objects: a Dalmatian sculpture, a tiny gold telephone and a turquoise urn planted with succulents. Recently I realized my shelves still needed something whimsical. One night the idea struck: a sprinkle pill paperweight filled with colorful gumballs. It’s a small decorative piece that makes people smile and, if you’re feeling snacky, offers a hidden treat.
Like Mary Poppins’ spoonful of sugar, a pill filled with gumball sprinkles brings an instant dose of joy to a room. It’s decorative, conversation-starting and practical in a pinch. Here’s how to make one for your desk or coffee table.

DIY Sprinkle Paperweight
Total Time: 30 Minutes (+ 30 Minutes Dry Time)
Supplies
2 plastic cloches (small and medium work well)
Spray paint in your chosen color
Gumballs or similar small candies
E6000 glue or equivalent strong adhesive
Gold washi tape or another decorative tape
Directions
1. Spray paint one plastic cloche using several thin, even coats until the surface is opaque. Allow it to dry fully.
2. Fill the other cloche with gumballs, then secure its lid.
3. Once the painted cloche is dry, cap it and apply a small amount of E6000 to each lid, then press the two halves together. Allow the glue to set for about 30 minutes (follow the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions for full cure time).
4. Conceal the seam with gold washi tape. Press the tape gently into place the first time to avoid having to reposition it and risking paint damage.
5. Place your sprinkle pill paperweight on a desk, shelf or coffee table for an instant pop of color and personality.
