Fried Egg Emoji Balloons: DIY Party Decoration Tutorial

Egg balloon

I recently shared this project on Instagram and many of you said the flowers looked like eggs — which inspired me. They’re actually daisies, but I’d already been planning fried egg emoji balloons (one of my favorite emojis). They’re finally ready, and they’re perfect for birthdays, brunches, baby showers, or any celebration that calls for a playful breakfast theme.

DIY Fried Egg Emoji Balloons

Total Time: About 30 minutes

Supplies

Black mylar balloons
Black, white and yellow paper or construction paper
Glue dots and/or tape
Scissors

Directions

1. Cut a handle shape from black paper, an irregular egg shape from white paper, and a small circle from yellow paper for the yolk.
2. Inflate the black balloons and knot the ends.
3. Attach the black paper handle a few inches above the balloon tail with tape—this gives a place to hold and helps balance the decoration.
4. Use tape or glue dots to adhere the yellow circle onto the white egg shape, then attach the finished egg to the balloon surface.

Tips: Use regular paper or construction paper instead of cardstock; cardstock is often too heavy and can weigh balloons down. If the paper still feels heavy, reduce the size of the shapes or trim the handle length so the balloon supports them more easily.

Next up: a waffle balloon would be so fun. We’ve already made fruit slice and donut balloons, and emoji heart balloons are another favorite!
