Rugs I Passed Up So You Should Know — Vol. 13

Pink Vintage Iranian Runner

Volume 13 of my rug round-up — here we go! This edition has a mix of runners and several larger rugs; clearly colorful floor textiles were on my mind. I’ve selected pieces with bold color, interesting texture, and thoughtful craftsmanship. Scroll through and tell me which one you love most.

Pink Vintage Iranian Runner

  1. Multicolor Pink Vintage Runner: A striking runner from Iran with an incredible range of pinks and vibrant turquoise highlights. The distant photo doesn’t capture the woven details — click through to see the close-ups and appreciate the craftsmanship.

Yellow Azilal Rug

  1. Pops of Yellow Azilal Rug: I always love rugs with unexpected yellow accents. If you’ve toyed with the idea of a yellow kitchen or a sunny nook, this Azilal would bring playful contrast and warmth.

Blue Vintage Moroccan Rug

  1. Large Blue Vintage Moroccan Rug: I keep an eye out for large blue rugs because they can anchor a living room beautifully. This one closely resembles a rug I once considered for our space — deep, moody blue with a vintage feel.

Orange Boujad and Azilal Rug

  1. Orange Boujad & Azilal Rug: Moroccan rugs in rich orange tones always stand out. This piece blends Boujad and Azilal influences, combining techniques and motifs in an appealing way.

Blue and Terracotta Moroccan Marmoucha Rug

  1. Navy and Terracotta Moroccan Rug: For neutral lovers who still want depth: this rug reads almost neutral thanks to its deep navy and warm terracotta tones. It would make a wonderful single statement piece in a living area.

Pink Vintage Moroccan Rug

  1. Pink Vintage Moroccan Rug: A mostly solid-color rug with varied pink shades across its pile. It’s a lovely choice for a playroom, kids’ room, or as a bold dining room anchor.

Green Beni M'Guild Rug

  1. Green Beni M’Guild Rug: I searched for a green rug when sourcing pieces for our living room — this one would have been perfect. The green tone feels fresh and versatile.

Vintage Turkish Runner

  1. Vintage Pink and Orange Turkish Runner: A dramatic runner with black accents that provide contrast and depth. Perfect for a narrow hallway, a walk-in closet, or any small passage that needs personality.

How Do I Clean Moroccan Rugs?

Curious about caring for vintage Moroccan rugs? Treat them gently: vacuum regularly with a low-suction setting, avoid harsh chemical cleaners, spot-clean with a mild detergent and cool water, and have valuable or heavily soiled rugs professionally cleaned. Rotating rugs periodically helps even out wear, and using a pad underneath extends life and provides cushioning.

I regularly curate one-of-a-kind vintage Moroccan rugs. If you want to see more hand-picked selections, I’ve shared previous volumes in this series for additional inspiration.
