You didn’t think I’d finish the Garden Party series without a little honeycomb love, did you? Of course I had to add fresh flowers to one of my favorite party staples. My favorite idea is to hang a cluster of these flower-filled honeycombs above a long table for a spring brunch. I’ll bring the honeycombs and the donuts—who will share their table? For now, let’s get crafting.

Dear anemones — you always have my heart.

Supplies:
– Honeycomb decorations (these are 8″ ones)
– A variety of fresh flowers (I used anemones, ranunculus and boronia)
– Washi tape
– String or twine for hanging
– Paperclips to hold the honeycomb open
Step 1: Choose two or three pretty blooms and arrange them together. Keep the selection small so the stems fit comfortably in the honeycomb center. Trim the stems to about half the length of the honeycomb and wrap them with washi tape to secure the bunch.

Step 2: If your honeycomb doesn’t already have a hanging loop, tape a piece of string or twine to the inner edge of one side before opening. Lay the flower bundle along the straight edge of the closed honeycomb.

Step 3: Carefully open the honeycomb around the stems. The honeycomb will hold the flowers in place without extra tape. Use a few paperclips to secure the honeycomb open; this makes it easy to remove the flowers after the event and reuse the honeycomb later.

Step 4: Hang the honeycomb and enjoy your floral accent. You can also experiment with arranging flowers to spill from the bottom or side for a different look. If you try a new variation, take photos and share your results.

These would be a sweet surprise to hang before Mom comes down for Mother’s Day breakfast. If you’re Mom, feel free to pass this idea along to your family.
