Confession: I take shortcuts with holiday projects—and that’s perfectly fine. The season gets busy quickly, and when a ready-made piece can save time without sacrificing style, I’m all for it. Case in point: this oversized Christmas bow tree topper. It looks adorable on a faux tree and adds instant holiday charm with minimal effort. I picked up a jumbo bow at a discount store and gave it a little DIY upgrade to make it pop. If you prefer to build everything from scratch, go for it—this version simply shows an easier, faster route when you need one.

Supplies
- Jumbo holiday bow (mine came from a discount store; you can also enlarge a template and make one)
- Bow template (printable)
- White cardstock (two 12×12″ sheets recommended)
- Gold cardstock (optional for accents)
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Stapler
- Hot glue gun
Instructions
- Print and cut the bow template. Trace four bow loop pieces and two tail pieces onto white cardstock, then cut them out.
- Form loops by folding two bow pieces and slightly overlapping the ends. Staple to secure. Repeat with the remaining two pieces so you have two loop sets.

Assembly
Heat your glue gun. Attach the first set of loops slightly beneath one side of the bow’s center, then glue the second set on the opposite side. Glue each tail piece to the top of the bow’s tail sections so they hang naturally. If you want a focal point, cut a circle from gold or white cardstock and glue it to the bow center as a decorative button.

Attachment
Some store-bought bows include a twist-tie or fastening for securing to a tree. If yours doesn’t, you can add a twist-tie, ribbon, or wire, or simply glue the bow directly to the tree for a permanent topper.
