Happy Monday and happy fall! Though I’m still a little sad summer has ended, that didn’t stop me from baking pumpkin bread last night using one of my favorite cookbooks. The smell alone felt like a cozy invitation to the season. I also love keeping a thread of summer alive even as the weather cools, and recently a friend gave me the perfect excuse to do just that.
My friend Katy just launched a new blog dedicated to one of my absolute favorite places: Palm Springs. The site is called Palm Springs Style and it’s full of gorgeous inspiration for anyone planning a trip or just dreaming of desert escapes. Katy invited me to contribute a few DIY projects that fit the Palm Springs aesthetic, and I couldn’t resist saying yes. Palm Springs instantly brings Mid-Century Modern design to mind, so I created an easy DIY version of those glamorous starburst cocktail glasses I’ve been admiring for ages.
If you want step-by-step instructions, photos, and tips for making your own mid-century modern cocktail glasses, head over to Palm Springs Style and follow the full DIY tutorial there. It’s a fun, approachable project that transforms simple glassware into pieces with striking retro flair—perfect for fall gatherings or a sunny desert-inspired party.

Along with the glasses, I also made some playful drink stirrers to match the mid-century vibe. They’re not shown in these images, but you can find that DIY on the Palm Springs Style site as well. I love projects that add personality to a table setting, and these stirrers are an easy way to bring color and whimsy to cocktails or mocktails.
Big congratulations to Katy on launching such a lovely blog — it’s a fantastic resource for anyone who adores Palm Springs style, architecture, and entertaining. Thank you for letting me contribute and for fueling my ongoing Palm Springs obsession.
If any of these pieces look familiar, you might recognize the gumball-style drink stirrers I’ve shared in other projects. They’re a classic, retro touch and always spark conversation. I included a version of that DIY previously, and it remains one of my favorite quick crafts to make when I want a pop of color at a party.
