Forget golden eggs — Money Bag Easter Eggs are a playful, modern twist that’s simple to make and fun to give. We spotted the egg shape while shooting a credit card clutch and realized it was perfect for turning into a tiny money bag. The result is cute, quick, and ideal for stuffing with treats or coins.

DIY Money Bag Easter Eggs
Total Time: About one hour, plus drying time
Supplies
• Eggs — paper mache eggs, hollowed real eggs, or hardboiled eggs work well.
• Pink paint or egg dye (use dye for real eggs and paint for faux eggs).
• Dollar sign stickers or metallic gold paint to hand-paint the symbol.
• Pink tissue paper.
• Twine or thin ribbon.
• Hot glue gun and glue sticks.
Directions
1. Paint or dye your eggs pink and allow them to dry completely.
2. Apply a dollar sign sticker to each egg, or paint a gold dollar sign by hand if you prefer.
3. Cut a 3″ square of tissue paper for each egg.
4. Gather the tissue paper in the center, pinch it over the top of the egg, and secure the gathered tissue to the egg with a small dab of hot glue.
5. Tie a short length of twine or ribbon around the tissue where it meets the egg to create the money bag look. Trim any excess twine or tissue for a tidy finish.

These eggs are a fun surprise to hide in an Easter hunt. You can actually place a few coins or folded bills inside hollow eggs, or simply use the money bag look as a whimsical decoration. Either way, they bring a clever twist to traditional Easter eggs.
Happy crafting and happy egg making!
