This post is a little bittersweet: it’s my final Halloween DIY for the season. I hope you enjoyed celebrating October with me—I love this holiday and couldn’t resist stretching it out all month long. Before I fully switch into holiday mode, I wanted to share the simplest project of the bunch: a quick and cheerful “BOO!” bunting. I originally made this as a small thank-you for fellow Bloggers: In Costume participants, but it’s fast enough to make before next Wednesday. You can even personalize one for each child to hang on the back of their breakfast chair on Halloween morning. Ready? Let’s make it.

Supplies
- Mini treat bags or any paper you prefer
- Letter cutouts (I printed bold orange letters on cardstock)
- Scissors
- Spray adhesive or a glue stick
- Double-stick tape
- Twine
Instructions
- Trim the tops and bottoms off your treat bags, or cut your paper to the flag size you want.
- Cut a triangle from the bottom of each piece to create a classic flag shape.
- Adhere your letter cutouts to the front of each flag using spray adhesive or a glue stick. Position the letters so they spell your chosen word—”BOO!” is perfect for Halloween.
- Place a strip of double-stick tape along the top back of each flag. Fold the tape over the twine to attach each flag, spacing them evenly to spell out your word.
- Adjust spacing, straighten the flags, and hang the bunting where it will make the most impact.

Hang the bunting and enjoy the instant festive vibe. I ended up making several garlands because they’re so easy to customize and place around the house.

If you’re inspired to add more spooky touches, I also made a bat garland that pairs well with this bunting—perfect for a quick, cohesive Halloween display.
