Before I sign off for the New Year, I wanted to share an exciting new partnership for Studio DIY in 2014. Over the coming months I’ll be collaborating with Balloon Time, the maker of at-home helium tanks that I already use for most of my balloon projects, to create fresh balloon DIYs for both their site and mine. It’s a perfect match—our shared love of balloons makes this collaboration extra fun. To kick things off, we created a few New Year’s Eve balloon ideas that are easy to put together in just a few days. You can find full instructions over on Balloon Time, but here’s a sneak peek.

I used the same technique from my giant balloon heart to create giant balloon numbers for 2014. Step-by-step instructions are available on Balloon Time for making these oversized numerals.

If you’re planning to pop champagne at midnight, consider popping confetti balloons too. Set up a confetti balloon bar so guests can fill and pop their own balloons. The Balloon Time tutorial includes tips for filling the balloons and for creating the gold-dipped balloons shown here. Find the full instructions and additional photos on their site.

For a playful touch at your champagne bar, try balloon drink stirrers. There’s also a printable POP, FIZZ, CLINK sign and instructions for styling the champagne setup included in the Balloon Time champagne bar feature.

With that, I’ll send you off to enjoy the holidays. I’ll be back here on January 6th to pick up where this party left off. Wishing you a festive holiday season full of fun, friends, and lots of confetti. Thank you for reading—whether this is your first visit or you’ve been with Studio DIY from the start. This year’s growth has been amazing and I’m so grateful for your support. See you in the New Year!
