Crochet Bouquet of Roses Free Pattern & Tutorial

introduction

About this Pattern

If you’re looking for a unique project, you’re in the right place. A bouquet of roses made out of yarn will not only last a long time but it’ll be a pleasant surprise for anyone you gift them to. Each one works up in minutes (not hours) so it’s a good go-to project when you simply need to get it done fast.

With this project you’ll practice one basic method of crochet flower construction – making a strip and rolling it into a flower. It’s definitely the easiest and most customizable method. And don’t worry if you aren’t a pro crocheter either. I know a lot of total beginners who have successfully made a rose.

Before you begin, review this page entirely so you understand the full scope of the project. We have a list of recommended supplies and abbreviations here on this page as well as written instructions and a tutorial to walk you through our crochet bouquet of roses step-by-step.

FAQ: Can I use a different yarn?
Sure, this pattern is pretty flexible and should work well with any medium weight yarn. If you do substitute, the recommended yarn amount will likely be different too.

Assembly/Finishing

Step 1: Place floral stem at one edge of work and roll tightly. (The petals will naturally want to curve one direction. Go with the curve so the petals lay properly)

Step 2: With fasten off tail and yarn needle, run through bottom of rose, catching all layers with each pass. Run it back and forth several times to secure it.

Step 3: Thread slip knot tail on yarn needle and secure it to the petal just below it, stitching up the side. Run the tail back to the bottom of the rose and tie off with other tail.
