Crochet Snood Scarf Free Pattern & Tutorial

introduction

About this Pattern

If you have extremely cold winters where you live, a snood scarf is a must! What is essentially just a wide cowl, a snood doubles to wrap completely around your head for a fit that’s even warmer than a hood.

With this project you’ll learn one of our favorite stitches; a stretchy rib-like stitch that looks like stockinette stitch. Make yours solid, striped, or a combination of colors. The sky is the limit with this flexible pattern.

Before you begin, review this page entirely so you understand the full scope of the project. We have a list of recommended supplies and abbreviations here on this page as well as written instructions and a tutorial to walk you through our snood crochet scarf step-by-step.

FAQ: Can I use a different yarn?
Sure, as long as it’s in the same weight category. Check your gauge and adjust as needed so the sizing comes out right. The recommended yarn amount will likely be different too.
