Hello, cupcake! Today, I have a lovely, lacy crochet shawl pattern that comes in two versions. I think you’re going to want to wrap yourself in the cozy embrace of this gorgeous shawl, so be sure to keep reading for all the details!
Marielle was designed by Amber Killian. When asked about this pattern, Amber said, “Strands of Twisted Tweed Sport are held double to give this delicate design a little more substance. The color changes are reminiscent of the changing colors of the ocean. Soft blues combine for a calming look, while a darker blue hints at hidden depths. This is a very simple, repeating pattern that consists of only a few basic stitches. The visual interest is created by the color changes and the way the different stitches’ heights interact between rows.”
This is an Adventurous Beginner (Narrow Version) to Intermediate (Deeper Version) level pattern and is ideal for crocheters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Stitches include treble crochet, double crochet, foundation treble crochet, foundation double crochet, and creating chain spaces between foundation stitches. The pattern includes written instructions only, as well as a schematic.
Marielle is crocheted with our Twisted Tweed Sport, which is an irresistibly soft and bouncy yarn with a unique fiber blend that combines two types of wool twisted together, which creates a charming barber-pole effect. With gold, plum, and brown Donegal tweed neps, you’ve got a yarn that’s earthy, cozy, and delightfully modern all at once! This blend of 43% Superwash Merino Wool, 42% Fine Merino Wool, and 15% Donegal Tweed is perfect for snuggly sweaters, sweet shawls, textured accessories, or even a warm and whimsical blanket and has 384 yds (351 m) per skein. It’s like wrapping yourself in comfort and charm!
Marielle is offered in two versions – a Narrow Version and a Deeper Version. The Narrow Version sample was made with one skein each of A) Light Sea Blue, B) Sea Blue, & C) Deep Sea Blue Twisted Tweed Sport and used approximately 1150 yds (1052 m) total. The Deeper Version sample was made with one skein each of A) Light Forest Fog, B) Forest Fog, & C) Deep Forest Fog Twisted Tweed Sport and used approximately 945 yds (864 m) total.
