Crochet This Fall Cardigan Today – Thaw – Expression Fiber Arts | A Positive Twist on Yarn

Hello, my little dewdrop! This week, I have a relaxing, crochet cardigan pattern that I know you’re going to love making! I hope you’ll keep reading to learn more about this fun, beginner friendly pattern.

Crochet This Fall Cardigan Today – Thaw – Expression Fiber Arts | A Positive Twist on Yarn

Thaw was designed by Sati Glenn. When asked about her design, Sati said, “Are you finally ready to crochet your first cardigan? Then you’re in luck! Thaw is a beginner friendly cardigan pattern for Fall, and I am loving it for multiple reasons. First, the simplicity. A top-down raglan construction that’s worked all in double crochet stitches makes this such a simple pattern for anyone with very little experience. Second, the fit. Roomy and relaxed, the ease of this sweater is very forgiving and perfect for all sizes and body types. Plus, with details like pockets, super cute buttons, and an easy breezy edging, you can make the details your own, however you choose. Thaw out this year!”This Adventurous Beginner level pattern is for crocheters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Skills/concepts include basic garment construction, blocking, and finishing.

Thaw is crocheted with our wonderful Buttery Sport yarn. Buttery Sport is squishy, bouncy, and buttery! What’s not to love about this super soft, lush, and cuddly sport-weight yarn that’s also machine washable? Made from 100% Superwash Superfine Merino Wool, this two-ply yarn produces fat, full stitches! No itchiness or scratchiness here! Use this fun, boingy yarn to make soft, supple projects that work up quickly. 300 yds/274 m per 3.5 oz/100 g skein.

Our sample was crocheted with Aruba Buttery Sport and is a size Small, modeled on a 34” (86 cm bust).

The pattern is offered in sizes XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL), and you’ll need 4 – 8 skeins of Buttery Sport, depending on your selected size. If you wish to make the body or sleeves longer, you will need additional yarn.

We made a video about my crochet journey. Take a look!
