Looking for a fast, thoughtful last-minute gift for your best friend or sister? These DIY graphic initial sweatshirts are the perfect answer. They’re colorful, affordable—under $20 each—and can be completed in just a few quick steps.

We took inspiration from a favorite piece that’s no longer available and created our own bright, modern version. With printable letters for the whole alphabet, you can personalize sweatshirts for everyone in your group.

Directions

1. Print the letter you want following the transfer paper manufacturer’s instructions. Different brands and types of transfer paper have specific printing requirements, so follow the directions exactly.

2. Carefully cut out the printed letter, trimming close to the edge for a clean finish.

3. Position the letter on the sweatshirt in your preferred spot. Follow the transfer paper’s ironing instructions to adhere the letter to the fabric. Heat and timing vary by brand, so rely on the package directions for the best result.

4. That’s it—your personalized sweatshirt is ready to wear or gift!

Bonus idea: if you prefer home décor, use the same printable letters and transfer method to personalize throw pillows. The process is identical—print, cut, and iron on to the fabric of a pillow cover for a coordinated set of initial pillows.
