Join Us for Our 2025 Mystery Knit Along (MKAL) – Purport – Expression Fiber Arts | A Positive Twist on Yarn

Purport was designed by Janica York Carter. When asked about this design, Janica said, “‘New year, new me.’ ‘This year‘s gonna be MY year!’ ‘This year, I resolve to…’”

“Have you ever said one of those phrases and later chastised yourself? Things don‘t always go as planned, and too often, we become our own worst critics. We forget that yearlong (or longer!) commitments are hard. We fail to extend grace to ourselves in the same way we might extend it to others. Let‘s try to break that bad habit together as we stitch through this project. The goal of this knit-along is to bring you joy. It’s an opportunity to learn new stitch combinations, to play with color, and to create something special, knowing that other knitters around the world are right beside you, cheering you on. If you don‘t finish, that‘s okay! If you do finish, congratulations!”

“One of my favorite aspects of knit-alongs is the camaraderie they engender. We celebrate when things go right; we commiserate when things go wrong; we remind each other that no matter how things go, we are in this together. We demonstrate kindness to one another—the same kindness each of us should give ourselves.”

This pattern is an Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate level design and is for knitters who know basic stitches and are ready to combine them in new ways to create intricate-looking patterns.

To knit Purport, you will need 12 different colored skeins of our luxurious, beautifully soft Oasis Camel Silk Fingering yarn or an equivalent amount of yarn/yardage in another fingering-weight yarn. For Clue #1, we used Cherish Oasis Camel Silk Fingering.

Each month, we’ll let you know which color we used for that clue, but you can also create your own color combination. We recommend that you choose colors with a good amount of contrast among them, and knit Purport with at least two different colors.

Our elegant and long-wearing Oasis Camel Silk Fingering yarn is an exotic, sultry blend of 50% camel fiber and 50% mulberry silk for incredible softness and shimmer! When you want to treat yourself, this is the way to go! Wonderful for heirloom or wedding shawls, other wraps, scarves, sweaters, and so much more with 500 yds (457 m) per 3-ply skein.

Camel fiber is super soft, lightweight, strong, and smooth with a subtle sheen. Mulberry silk is also smooth and strong with a slinky feel that helps it slide nicely on your needles and hooks. Both fibers take the dye wonderfully, which results in saturated colors that really pop! When camel fiber is combined with mulberry silk, you get an enchanting yarn that is a true delight!

We’re also putting together an alternative set of Oasis Camel Silk Fingering colors that could be used for the 2025 MKAL. The clue colors in this Celestial Grove palette are: A) Abyss Oasis Camel Silk Fingering.

We filmed a video for Clue #1. Take a look to learn more about the 2025 Mystery Knit Along.

We are also having a yearlong contest for this pattern with prizes! And they’re going to be bigger and better than ever with both monthly prizes and HUGE grand prizes!
