Knit This Sweet, Cozy Shawl Today – Snoesig! – Expression Fiber Arts | A Positive Twist on Yarn

Hello, my treasured friend! Today, I have a sweet treat of a pattern to share with you! It’s a lovely, lacy knitted shawl pattern in the most perfect, cozy color! Keep reading to learn all about it!

Knit This Sweet, Cozy Shawl Today – Snoesig! – Expression Fiber Arts | A Positive Twist on Yarn

Snoesig was designed by Anja Veragten. When asked about her debut design, Anja said, “Snoesig is Afrikaans for ‘cozy.’ This is a shawl to cozy up in, just as the Pantone Color of the Year indicates. Wrap yourself in the love and softness of the yarn, the color and the design. To me, this pattern evokes the feeling of coming home to yourself. Once you see how the design unfolds, knitting this shawl is not as complicated as it might look. It does take some attention though, but just take it one stitch at a time.”

This Intermediate level pattern is ideal for knitters who have made a few projects and are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Stitches include knit, purl, yarn over, knit together, slip knit pass over, central double decrease, and slip knit 2 together pass over.

Snoesig is made with our beautifully silky soft Yak Silk Fingering yarn, which is a buttery, shimmery, 3-ply blend of 50% yak and 50% Mulberry silk. When yak is combined with silk, you get an amazing, soft, lustrous, creamy, rich, vibrant yarn that is hard to ignore! Warm, strong, and breathable! This fingering weight yarn is ideal for sensual shawls, scarves, baby clothes, socks, hats, whatever you desire and has 500 yds/457 m per skein.

The sample shown here was knitted with three skeins of our soft and demure Peach Fuzz Yak Silk Fingering color and used approximately 1189 yds/1087 m total. The overall size of this shawl can be adjusted, if desired.

We made a video tutorial showing how to work the lace hearts featured in this pattern. Take a look!

The pattern contains written and charted instructions.
