Block #16:
Reminiscence 12 Inch Square

The Details
My Notes: The Reminiscence Square is more complicated than you might think at first glance – and full of surprises! That said, Amy has written a lovely pattern that’s easy to follow. It’s also sure to keep your hook entertained! It’s a nicely solid square, and with frequent color changes it’s easy to make it your own.
Helpful Links and Tutorials: Magic Circle, Join with Hdc, Join with Dc, Post Stitches, Crossed Stitches, and Seamless Finishing.
Sizing: My square was just a little small so I bumped up Rnd 12 to hdc instead of sc. But everyone’s gauge is different so be sure to measure as you go! Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.
What I Did: I used a Susan Bates US-J, 6.0 mm Twist and Lock hook, and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows (see pics for more info on placement):
Rnd 1 – 2: Pewter
Rnd 3 – 4: White
Rnd 5: Pewter
Rnd 6: White
Rnd 7: Light Gray
Rnd 8: White
Rnd 9: Pewter
Rnd 10: White
Rnd 11: Light Gray
Rnd 12: White
This square required moderate blocking. I used the wet blocking method, or you could use light steam.
