The 2025 Moogly CAL Schedule
As we go, click the name of the past squares to go to their posts and get the patterns! Numbers represent the date of the month that future posts will debut. All of these dates are Thursdays, 2 weeks apart. The exception is our last square, on November 26 – the day before American Thanksgiving! Then you’ll have all of December to finish it up and get ready for the holidays. ♥

Block #2:
The Christine Quilt Block

Above you can see the squares that Linda made in 4 colors – and you can see the difference color placement makes! Below is my CAL square, in my 5 colors of Red Heart With Love – Merlot, Mallard, Boysenberry, Cornsilk, and Black.

My Notes: The Christine Quilt Block is a beautiful, beginner-friendly square. perfect for playing with your colors! The layout is indeed reminiscent of quilted blocks, and it works up pretty quickly. This is a wonderful block to relax with in the evening after a hectic day!
Helpful Links and Tutorials: Chainless Starting Double Crochet, Standing Double Crochet, and seamless join.
Sizing: My square measured about 10.25″ after Rnd 8, so I added a rnd of dc and that got me to 12″. Everyone’s gauge is different so be sure to measure as you go! Learn how to adjust for size HERE to ensure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.
What I Did:
I used a Susan Bates US-J, 6.0 mm Twist and Lock hook, and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows (see pics for more info on placement):
A: Mallard
B: Merlot
C: Cornsilk
D: Boysenberry
Added Rnd: Black
This square required a mild blocking. I used the wet blocking method.
