How the Odds Are Shawl Crochet Along Works
Over the month of January 2025, I will post sections of the Odds Are Shawl crochet pattern. Each post will go live at 10 am Central US time, barring technical difficulties. There will also be a video tutorial for each section, shared in both right and left-handed versions. These posts will be right here on mooglyblog.com, and free for all! On your end, all you need to do is make the pattern – no need to sweat the deadline, take your time!
The Schedule for the Moogly January 2025 Crochet Along
The Odds Are Shawl pattern will be divided into four posts, and each post will be released on the remaining Mondays in January 2025, at 10am Central US time. I will come back and add links to the schedule below as each week goes live!

There are no deadlines for finishing, and this one is not a race – jump on in when you’re ready, and work at your own pace. You can also use this pattern for a crochet along at your local craft group!
The Yarn for the Odds Are Shawl
To make this crochet shawl, I used Caron Colorama Halo Perfect Phasing yarn – just one skein! So this is a wonderful project with which to give it a try. This pattern shows off the beauty of this yarn’s truly perfect gradient or ombre. And when you’re all finished, there are just 2 ends to weave in! 430 yds Caron Colorama Halo Perfect Phasing (5 – Bulky; 71% Acrylic,18% Nylon,11% Polyester; 227 g/8 oz, 440 m/481 yds)

Special Stitch:
Wrapped dc – yo and insert hook around post of previous st from front to back, as for a front post st, yo and pull up a loop, yo and pull through two loops, yo and pull through last two loops to finish st.

Row 42: (Csdc, dc) in first st, wrapped dc around previous st, skip the next st, *dc in next st, wrapped dc around previous st, skip the next st; rep from * across leaving last st unworked; turn. (43 sts)
Row 43: Csdc in first st, dc across until 1 st rem, 3 dc in last st, turn. (45 sts)
Rows 44 – 61: Rep Rows 42 and 43. (Row 61: 63 sts)
