For the past little while, I have been trying to find a nice ribbing for hats. My go-to has always been a ribbing made from rows of hdc stitches worked in the back loops. This looks a bit like knit ribbing, but it doesn’t have the same stretchy snap-back.
I stumbled on a ribbing made from working slip stitches in back loops, did some reworking, and the result is ribbing that looks very knit-like.

ABOUT THIS KNIT-LOOK CROCHET RIBBING SET

This whole set is worked up using worsted weight yarn. The cowl actually calls for 2 strands held together for one extra squishy, cozy result. Both the fingerless mitts and ear warmer use one strand only. The technique, as with any, takes a bit of time to perfect, but this pattern is suitable for advanced beginners and beyond. Once you get the hang of it, you will be able to apply this ribbing to other projects as well!

5.5mm, 8mm Hooks
Measuring Tape (you will measure instead of meeting a gauge)
