Yay — a new series! Because I have a soft spot for sweets, desserts and all things sugary, I’m launching a new feature on Studio DIY called Sugar Fix. I’ll be sharing my favorite spots to grab treats and exploring new places too. When I heard that Sockerbit, a Scandinavian candy shop, was opening in Los Angeles, it felt like the perfect place to kick things off.

I’d seen glowing reviews and photos from the original New York City location, so we made a beeline to the LA shop just days after it opened. It didn’t disappoint. The candy is quite possibly the most beautiful candy I’ve ever seen. But beyond the visuals, it tastes amazing too. Sockerbit uses high-quality ingredients—no high fructose corn syrup, no trans fats and no GMOs—and their colors are derived from natural sources. That means you can indulge without feeling guilty. You’re welcome.

Many thanks to Florence and Stefan, the owners, for inviting us in and letting us explore their colorful candy world. If you’re in Los Angeles, Sockerbit is worth a visit for both its visual charm and its thoughtful approach to ingredients.
