Cotton Candy Donuts: Fluffy Glazed Donuts Topped with Cotton Candy

I’m so excited to finally share a collaboration that took months to bring together. Over the last year in Los Angeles I’ve met so many talented people, and two of my favorites are Cloë of Bon Puf and Danette of California Donuts. We teamed up to create a playful, dreamy treat: cotton candy donuts.

Imagine LA’s favorite donuts topped with light, fluffy cotton candy from the OG cotton candy queen—it’s a perfect pairing. I loved styling these sweet little bites and watching people light up when they saw them. Want to make some at home? It’s easier than it looks.

We also made cotton candy croissant-donuts—yes, they’re as indulgent as they sound.

Cotton Candy Dreams

If you haven’t heard of Bon Puf’s work, here’s a quick intro: Bon Puf is an LA-based cotton candy cart serving organic, all-natural cotton candy with playful toppings. Founded by Cloë Lane, the business brings joy to events with beautifully made cotton candy. It’s a fantastic option for weddings, parties, and corporate events—guests always love it.

Supplies:

  • Donuts — we used custom pink and yellow frosted donuts from California Donuts (they take special orders) and their croissant donuts
  • Cotton candy — fresh and fluffy works best
  • Nonpareil sprinkles (optional, but delightful for texture and color)

How to assemble:

Place a small pinch of cotton candy gently on top of each frosted donut, then finish with sprinkles. If you’re making your own frosted donuts, allow the glaze to set fully before adding cotton candy so it doesn’t dissolve. The whole process is quick and transforms ordinary donuts into a whimsical treat.

These pillow-y, sugary treats are perfect for birthdays, showers, and any celebration that could use a little extra whimsy. A huge thank you to Cloë and Danette for joining forces and sharing their talents. If you’re in Los Angeles, they’re wonderful vendors to consider for your next event.
