We’ve already tried a couple of egg-decorating ideas and there’s one more Easter craft to share — a simple pull-style piñata that’s perfect for parties and egg hunts. This project is the easiest piñata I’ve ever made: no cardboard cutting, no fringing. A few sheets of crepe paper gathered around a filled center quickly becomes an adorable Easter bunny. Fill it, hang it, pull the ribbons, and enjoy the surprise inside.

Supplies you’ll need:
– White fine crepe paper (streamer thickness works best; available at party stores)
– Pink and white cardstock
– A pink pom pom for the nose
– Ribbon for hanging and pull-tabs
– Glue and tape
– Scissors
– An awl or a sharp point (scissors will work if you don’t have an awl)
– Piñata fillings like Easter grass, small candy eggs, or other small treats
Step 1: Cut a circle about 4.5″ across from white cardstock. If you don’t have a ruler, trace a small bowl. For each piñata, cut two 20″ x 20″ squares of crepe paper. Lay the crepe paper squares on top of one another and center the cardstock circle on top. Using an awl or the tip of sharp scissors, poke a hole through the circle and both layers of crepe paper.

Step 2: Cut ribbons to the desired length for pulling — make them long enough to reach once the piñata is hung. Thread the ribbons through the hole, tie a large knot, and tape the knot to the cardstock circle for extra security.

Step 3: Pile your chosen fillings onto the center of the crepe paper and cardstock. Fold the crepe paper up over the filling, bringing both sides together as if folding the paper in half horizontally. Pinch the top ends to shape “ears” and secure them by tying the ends together with a ribbon. Leave extra length on that ribbon to use as the hanging loop.

Step 4: Decorate the ears. Cut two inner-ear shapes from pink cardstock slightly smaller than the crepe paper ears and glue one to each ear. Add a pink pom pom for a nose and any other small embellishments you like — whiskers, a mouth, or simple eyes if desired. This project looks sweet with minimal decoration, so a nose alone often does the trick.

Step 5: Final checks — make sure the knot holding the ribbons is secure and that the crepe paper is wrapped snugly around the filling. Hang the piñata by the long ribbon loop and arrange the pull ribbons so they’re easy to reach.

That’s it — the quickest piñata you’ll ever make. Hang it, let kids pull the tabs, and enjoy the treats that spill out. This bunny-style piñata is lightweight, easy to customize, and a fun addition to any Easter celebration.
