At my bridal shower, my bridesmaids set up a delightful DIY balloon bar where guests wrote well wishes on balloons for me to read on the wedding day. It was a creative twist on a classic shower activity and a memorable surprise. I recreated the idea to share how you can organize the same experience for your own shower and wedding morning.

Supplies for the bridal shower
Latex balloons
Dry erase or permanent markers
Large bulldog clips
Supplies for the wedding day
Deflated wish balloons
Balloon helium tank
Ribbon and weights

1. At the bridal shower: Create a small “balloon bar” with balloons, markers and bulldog clips. Display simple instructions asking guests to inflate a balloon a little, secure the tail with a bulldog clip, write a wish or message for the bride, then deflate the balloon and leave it for the bridesmaids to collect. The clips keep messages readable while balloons are stored until the wedding day.
2. On the wedding day: Inflate the saved wish balloons with helium, tie each with ribbon and attach weights or secure them to chairs or dressing-room fixtures. Arrange the balloons around the room so the bride can read the thoughtful notes and enjoy the festive decorations while getting ready.

Reading the heartfelt messages while getting ready was one of my favorite moments. The balloons added color and personality to the morning and created sweet photos. If you’re planning a bridal shower, this activity is simple to set up and leaves a meaningful keepsake for the wedding day.
