There are a few little rituals that make you feel like a grown-up. Wearing proper pajamas to bed is one of them. Not an old high school t-shirt and holey leggings (guilty), but an actual pajama set. With a new house, a baby and a changed routine, I decided it was time for real PJs.
Then I added donut buttons. Because I’m not ready to adult too seriously. I partnered with Keurig® and The Original Donut Shop® Coffee to share this easy DIY for donut-button pajamas and to tell you about a weekend morning routine that’s become really special to us.

Our son, Arlo, usually wakes around 6:30 a.m., sometimes earlier. I used to be OK with early mornings, but these days I treasure the chance to see a “7” on the clock on the weekend. When he starts stirring on Saturdays and Sundays, I bring him into bed for morning snuggles.
He’s not the most cuddly kid, which tugs at my snuggler-heart, but in those early hours he’s still dreamy and slow. Sometimes he falls asleep on my chest and those moments of quiet contentment feel like everything. Jeff often takes over making coffee and breakfast, bringing them back in so we can stay cozy a little longer.

To maximize snuggle time and save a bit of cash (renovating a house is expensive), we make coffee at home. Our Keurig® gets a workout, and we’ve been loving The Original Donut Shop® Coffee—it’s just like a quick trip to the donut shop while you’re still in your pajamas.
And of course, when you’re in pajamas you can add a little sweetness to them. Here’s how to make donut-button pajamas.

DIY Donut Button Pajamas – Inspired by The Original Donut Shop® Coffee from Keurig®
Total Time: One hour plus dry time
Supplies
Button-down pajama set
Fabric-safe craft paint in pink, tan and several sprinkle colors
Small paint brushes
Directions
1. Paint each button pink and allow to dry completely. A little paint on the surrounding fabric is fine—you’ll cover it with the tan donut ring.
2. Paint a tan circle around each button. If you prefer, sketch a light pencil circle first as a guide, then paint over it. Let dry; apply a second coat if needed.
3. Add sprinkles: use the tip of a small brush to dot tiny sprinkles on each donut with your chosen colors. I like to do one color across all buttons, then move to the next so the colors distribute evenly. Let dry and you’re finished!

I really cherish these new weekend mornings. They’re one of the few times during the week when we all relax together—Arlo, Bella and us—and appreciate this little family we’ve built. And coffee helps, of course.
Do you have a weekend morning routine or tradition? I’d love to hear about it.
