Make Your Own Confetti Earrings: Step-by-Step DIY Tutorial

We didn’t forget New Year’s Eve — and what’s NYE without confetti? For a recent post with our friends at Hallmark, we discovered a neon pink glitter confetti card that inspired a sparkly DIY gift: confetti-filled earrings. They’re playful, customizable, and quick to make — perfect for a birthday just before the new year or to wear to any celebration.

The Hallmark Studio INK card that inspired these earrings is neon pink and glittery — so good I bought a second one to add to my gallery wall. Pro tip: use pretty cards and stationery as affordable mini art prints. Frame them or tape them up with washi tape for instant wall art. But back to the earrings — they’re simple, customizable, and a great way to wear a little sparkle.

DIY Confetti Earrings

Total Time: 20–30 minutes

Supplies

Confetti (your choice of shapes and colors)
Plastic fillable ornament halves (clear round ornaments work well)
Earring hooks
Jump rings
Jewelry pliers
Super glue

Directions

1. Fill one half of the clear ornament with your chosen confetti. Overfilling will give a fuller, more festive look.
2. Run a thin bead of super glue around the rim of the filled half, then press the two halves together. Allow the glue to fully set so the ornament stays sealed while worn.
3. Use jewelry pliers to open a jump ring, thread it through the ornament’s hanging loop, then add the earring hook. For extra length, use two jump rings stacked together.
4. Close the jump ring securely with the pliers. Your confetti earrings are ready to wear!
