I’m finally doing it: a new series called “Rugs I Didn’t Buy, So You Should.” It’s equal parts obsession, entertainment, and gentle restraint—because sometimes the best thing you can do for your marriage is admire a gorgeous rug without bringing it home. If you love vintage rugs like I do, hopefully you’ll enjoy these picks.
If we haven’t met before, I collect vintage rugs. I spend a lot of time hunting for special pieces online—runners, Moroccan Berbers, Azilals, Boujaads and Boucharouites—and sometimes I can’t bring myself to buy every beautiful thing I find. I asked on Instagram whether you’d like a series like this and you said yes, so here we are: a casual roundup of rugs I’m loving right now. No fancy production, just honest finds and styling ideas. Tell me which one you love in the comments—I’m dying to know.

1. Orange and Aqua Vintage Boujaad Rug
This rug isn’t something I would normally pick—orange isn’t my signature color—but the combination of orange and aqua is utterly convincing. I considered it for the living room, but my husband wasn’t sold. Still, the color pairing is rare and striking; it would brighten any space and feel totally unique.

2. Peach and Pink Vintage Berber Rug
This palette is soft and dreamy—peach and pink together feel so gentle and cheerful. It’s shown as a runner, but it would also be a lovely choice for a nursery or a cozy hallway where you want a warm, feminine touch.

3. Colorful Vintage Azilal Rug
This Azilal brings bright neon pops that remind me of playful, creative spaces. It would be a fantastic anchor for a kid’s playroom or a lively living room paired with a simple tan leather sofa. The bold, cheerful colors feel modern and whimsical at once.

4. Black and Pink Vintage Ourika Berber Rug
I love black Moroccan rugs for how they make other colors sing. This black-and-pink Ourika is dramatic and sophisticated—the dark background gives the pinks and accent tones incredible contrast. It’s surprising how much depth and personality a darker rug can give a space.

5. Emerald Green Vintage Boucharouite Rug
That green is everything. An emerald Boucharouite like this would make a bold statement under a dining table or become the centerpiece of a maximalist room with patterned wallpaper. It’s vivid and confident—perfect for someone ready to lean into color.

6. Hot Pink and Aqua Vintage Azilal Rug
This hot pink and aqua combo is such an intriguing mix. The aqua tones calm the hot pink while the caramel and red accents add warmth. It would be unexpected and cheerful in a bathroom or kitchen—imagine it in front of a sink or layered in a bright laundry room.

7. Shades of Pink Vintage Rug
This one came from Soukie Modern and you may have seen it in my Instagram stories. I don’t usually gravitate toward checkerboard patterns, but the abstract treatment and layered pinks won me over. It’s a little bit graphic and a little bit soft—perfect for a bedroom or a cozy sitting area. If it’s not listed online, try contacting the shop directly to inquire.
So which is your favorite? I’m curious which colors and patterns speak to you most—leave a comment and let me know.
