If you’re not into full costumes but still want a quick way to join the Halloween fun, here are three easy DIY last-minute costume accessories you can pair with any outfit for work, school, or a party. Each idea uses a playful pun—Eye Candy, Twinkle Toes, and Crown Jewels—and you can create them quickly using basic craft supplies (and optionally a cutting machine). They’re simple, stylish, and perfect for when you want a festive look without a lot of effort.

DIY Eye Candy Costume

Cricut Explore (optional)
Cricut Design Space software (optional)
12”x12” standard grip cutting mat (optional)
Printer
White cardstock
Sunglasses with a large, thick rim
Hot glue

1. If using a cutting machine, open the project in the cutting software and choose “Print Then Cut.” Print the candy design onto cardstock following the on-screen prompts. If you don’t have a cutting machine, simply print the designs and cut them out by hand.
2. Cut out the printed candy shapes. If you used a cutting machine, place the printed sheet on your cutting mat and follow the machine instructions to cut precisely.
3. Use hot glue to attach the candy shapes around the rim of the sunglasses. Overlap slightly to fully cover the frame but avoid blocking too much of the lenses so you can still see. Pair the glasses with a bright dress and candy-style jewelry for a playful look.

DIY Twinkle Toes Costume

Cricut Explore (optional)
Cricut Design Space software (optional)
12”x12” standard grip cutting mat (optional)
Printer
White cardstock
Craft or jewelry wire
Sandals with a front strap, or flats/pumps
Shoe clip base and a small piece of felt (for flats/pumps)
Scissors
Hot glue

1. Print the star designs onto cardstock. Use your cutting machine to cut them out or cut by hand if you don’t have one.
2. Cut craft wire into roughly six-inch lengths. Hot glue a star to the top of a wire and another star to the back so each piece is double-sided. Make 6–8 star wires per shoe for a fuller effect.
3. Arrange the star wires at varying heights and twist the wire ends together. Trim the bottoms so the wires are even.
4. For sandals with a front strap: wrap the twisted wires around the strap and secure by twisting the wire back on itself. Adjust the stars so they sit attractively above the shoe.
5. For flats or pumps: trim the twisted wires to leave about one inch of excess beyond the desired length. Fold that inch forward so it sits perpendicular to the stars and hot glue it onto a shoe clip base. Cover the glued wire ends with a small felt circle for a neat finish. Attach the clip to the shoe and position the stars as you like.

DIY Crown Jewels Costume

Cricut Explore (optional)
Cricut Design Space software (optional)
12”x12” standard grip cutting mat (optional)
Printer
White cardstock
Gold paper crown
Hot glue or glue stick

1. Print the jewel designs on cardstock, then cut them out using a cutting machine or by hand.
2. Arrange and glue the paper jewels onto a gold paper crown. Use hot glue for a secure hold or a glue stick for a cleaner finish.
3. Wear the crown with a cocktail dress or an outfit with bold accessories to complete the Crown Jewels vibe.
