  • Colorful baker’s twine
  • Paper shamrocks made from cardstock (optional)
  • Candy or other small treats
  • Rotary cutter

Instructions:

Use a cutting board to keep lines straight. Stack two 10″ mylar squares together, aligning the edges. Cut a 2″ square from each corner of the stacked mylar (you can cut through both layers at once).

Fringe each side of the mylar. Working one side at a time, cut 2″ deep fringe along the edges with your rotary cutter. Make sure to cut through both layers so the two pieces match.

Place your candy or treats in the center of the mylar stack. Gather the edges up to form a small pouch, then secure the top by tying colorful baker’s twine around the gathered neck.

How To Make Myalr Fringe Fringe Mylar Treat Bag

For a finishing touch, attach a small paper shamrock to the front with a glue dot or tuck a tiny card under the twine. The fringe gives a fun, fluffy look that makes these pouches feel festive and special.

Tips:

  • Cut through both mylar layers at once to keep the pieces identical.
  • Adjust fringe depth or width for a different look—narrower fringe creates a fuller appearance.
  • Use small treats or a few pieces of candy so the pouch closes neatly.

These make adorable St. Patrick’s Day favors and are an easy project to produce in quantity. They pair perfectly with printable leprechaun notes and other themed crafts.
