I had another post ready for today, but after seeing how excited everyone was about the upcoming launch of our “FUNEMPLOYED” shirt (April 23rd, 8am PST), I changed plans. First—thank you so much for the love and enthusiasm! It really made my day. As I read through your comments in the office, my team and I got curious: what do you all do for a living?
What do you do for a living? Do you work a 9-to-5? If so, what’s your job? Are you an entrepreneur or freelancer—what’s your business? A student—what are you studying? A stay-at-home parent—how old are your kids? I’d love to hear about your day-to-day in the comments below.
Update: Thank you for sharing your stories. I love hearing how everyone spends their time—there’s such a diverse and wonderful group here. Our intention with the shirt was playful, aimed at freelance and entrepreneur friends who like to joke about being “employed by fun.” We recognize the word’s original meaning and understand how difficult unemployment can be. We would never make light of that experience. Instead, this shirt is meant to celebrate the many ways people spend their days—whether that’s a traditional 9-to-5, freelancing, running a business, being at home with kids, studying, or anything in between.
I’m genuinely curious about your routines and what brings you energy each day. Some people find fulfillment in a structured office job, others thrive on the flexibility of freelancing, and many find the greatest reward in caregiving or learning. Every role has its challenges and its joys, and hearing about them helps build a richer sense of community here.
If you’re comfortable, please share your job title or role, a brief description of what you do, and anything that makes your daily work meaningful or uniquely yours. Are there rituals that keep you productive? Do you juggle multiple roles? What surprised you about your work when you first started?
To kick things off, here are a few examples from our team and friends: a graphic designer who balances client work with personal projects, a teacher who spends evenings planning and weekends grading but loves the classroom moments that make it all worthwhile, a parent running a small online shop between school drop-offs, and a student studying environmental science who’s passionate about conservation. These snapshots show how varied and creative people’s lives can be.
Whether you identify as employed, self-employed, studying, caring for family, or exploring new directions, your story matters. Sharing helps others feel seen and might spark connections, collaborations, or simply a moment of recognition. Looking forward to reading your replies and celebrating the many ways people make a life and make life a little more fun.
PS: The shirt launch is still happening on April 23rd at 8am PST—thanks again for all the excitement. Can’t wait to hear what you do and why it matters to you.
