I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Starbucks to share a series of fun ideas, starting with my favorite theme: mini everything. When Starbucks introduced a petite Frappuccino, I knew the perfect response was to throw a tiny-themed party. Bite-sized treats, miniature decorations and tiny favors make for an adorable celebration, so I put together a checklist and DIY tips to help you create your own mini party that’s big on charm.

Below are my tips and DIYs for throwing a charming mini party.

Mini Invitations
Every party starts with an invite, and for a mini party, the invitation should match the theme. Print small invitations and make tiny envelopes to fit them. Download the printable, trim to size, add your event details on the back, and tuck them into handmade envelopes. Seal with a sticker or a snippet of washi tape for a polished look.
Instructions: print the invite graphic, cut it out, fill in the details, trace and cut the envelope template on decorative paper, fold the flaps inward and glue, then slip the invite inside and seal.

Mini Piñatas
Mini piñatas make delightful favors and decor. I found small papier-mâché shapes, sprayed them gold, and filled each with confetti, candy and a tiny wrapped surprise. They’re perfect to give away or to use as table decorations—no swinging required.

Tiny Treats
The star of the mini menu is the petite Frappuccino: a 10-ounce version of any Frappuccino flavor. Serving a selection of petite Frappuccinos lets guests sample different flavors without overindulging. I topped each drink with tiny party hats for an extra dose of whimsy.
Complement the drinks with miniature desserts: a tiny tiered cake, mini ice cream cones and bite-sized slices. For the tiny tiered cake I used a small multi-tier pan and a funfetti mix. To coat the cake with sprinkles, freeze the frosted tiers briefly, place them in a shallow pan, pour sprinkles on top and gently press them into the sides with a small spatula. For mini ice cream cones, use a melon baller to scoop small rounds into tiny cones—simple and irresistible.

Decor and Finishing Touches
Finish the look with 5-inch balloons and the smallest plates you can find. Little details—tiny party hats for drinks, miniature cake stands, and small napkins—reinforce the theme and elevate the overall presentation. Arrange the desserts on a low table or tray so guests can admire the tiny creations.
When planning, focus on scale: choose props and serving ware that reinforce the miniature aesthetic. That consistency is what makes a mini party feel cohesive and delightfully whimsical.
Share your mini party photos on social media with your favorite party hashtag and enjoy how much personality a compact celebration can deliver. Mini parties are quick to assemble, memorable and endlessly charming.
