I created an Easter version of my pastel DIY Christmas village for a collaboration with PEEPS Marshmallows and loved it so much I placed it on our mantel for the season. The same simple idea—tiny painted houses, miniature flower boxes and pastel trees—transforms into a sweet spring display. Below I share a clear, condensed guide for making your own Easter village with tips for scale and finishing touches.

DIY Easter Village
Total Time: Varies by number of houses — allow time for painting and glue to dry.
Supplies
– Unpainted birdhouses (available at craft stores)
– Acrylic paint and brushes
– Tiny faux flowers (choose very small blooms for proper scale)
– Mini faux dollhouse trees
– Small wooden cubes or strips (1/4″ or 1/2″) and mini wooden flower pots
– Hot glue gun (a mini glue gun is handy)
– Scissors or wire cutters for trimming faux stems
– Optional: unfinished wooden truck or small wooden accents
Directions
1. Paint each birdhouse in soft pastel colors. Paint the base of each house a grassy green to ground the scene. If you have wooden vehicles or other accents, paint them to match. Allow everything to dry completely.
2. Build flower boxes by gluing together small wooden cubes or strips to the width of the house windows. Paint the boxes in coordinating colors and let dry.
3. Attach the flower boxes under the windows with hot glue. Trim clusters from your faux flower stems and glue them inside the boxes to create full, tiny arrangements.
4. For freestanding pots, paint the pots, dry them, then add trimmed flower clusters and glue the pots to the house base. Scatter a few extra flowers along roofs, fences or walkways for a natural look.
5. Position and glue mini trees along fences or at the sides of houses to add height and variety to the village. Rearrange pieces until the composition feels balanced.
