Next week this blog will turn distinctly Halloween-esque, but for today I’m sharing a simple DIY project that will last well beyond the holiday. At a recent gathering we talked about hosting a candy-apple party, and I’ve been excited about the idea ever since. To kick things off, here’s an easy 3D apple place card you can make in about five minutes. Use a bright pop of color like I did, or switch to traditional fall tones as the season progresses. These make a charming addition to a candy-apple party or an autumn dessert table.

Supplies you’ll need:
Apple template (printable)
Cardstock
Scissors
Pencil
Sharpie or other marker
How to make the 3D apple place cards:
1. Print the apple template and cut out the shape. 2. Trace the template onto your chosen cardstock and cut out two apple pieces per place card. 3. Be sure to cut the slit indicated on each apple piece. 4. Use the leaf area to write a guest name, dessert label, or a short message with a fine-tip marker. 5. Slide the two apple pieces together at the slits so the apple stands in 3D.

Tips and variations:
– Try different colors of cardstock for a bold or subtle look.
– Use patterned paper for added texture.
– Write dessert names or flavor labels instead of guest names to mark toppings at a candy-apple station.
– For durability, use heavier cardstock or laminate the template before tracing.
These 3D apple place cards work beautifully on an apple-themed dessert bar or as labels for candy and caramel apple toppings. They’re quick to make, customizable, and add a festive, handmade touch to any fall gathering.

Do you have a favorite fall apple recipe to share? I’d love to hear it.
