Make Your Own Sparkling Resin Glitter Tray: Simple DIY Guide

Pink craft materials

After the success of our floating glitter tumbler, we started experimenting with other ways to use glitter and discovered this fun tray. You can make a DIY glitter tray to keep on your desk (it fits letter-size papers), hold makeup or jewelry, or store nail polish. It’s an easy, sparkly project that adds a playful touch to any space.

DIY Glitter Tray

Total Time: 30 minutes

Supplies

Acrylic custom photo tray
Assortment of glitter
Computer paper
Hot glue gun
Small bowl

Directions

1. Mix different glitters in a bowl until you like the blend.
2. Pour some of the glitter mixture onto a sheet of computer paper. Fold or curl the paper slightly and slip the end into the tray opening, then pour the glitter inside. For a tray where the glitter moves freely, fill about halfway to three-quarters. To fill the tray completely so the glitter stays in place, pour to the top.
3. Seal the tray by running a thin bead of hot glue along the inside edge of the opening, working a few inches at a time. Wipe any excess glue from the outer edge before it sets. When you first tip the tray to check for gaps, hold it over paper to catch any spilled glitter. Go back and finish sealing any spots you missed.
