Exploring Wynwood Walls: A Guide to Miami’s Street Art Scene

During college, Jeff’s parents relocated from our New Jersey hometown to South Florida. For our first Christmas as a married couple we traveled to visit them and took a day trip to Miami with one goal in mind: Wynwood Walls. I had seen this vibrant destination all over Instagram and felt it was essential to experience it in person. Wynwood Walls, conceived by Tony Goldman, transformed the warehouse district by turning its exterior walls into large-scale artworks to draw visitors and enliven the neighborhood. The curated “park” area showcases several major murals, but the surrounding streets reveal countless additional pieces and interesting shops. If you find yourself in Miami, Wynwood is a must-see.

I’m wearing: Trina Turk blouse, J. Crew Factory Winnie pant (my current favorite pants), Kate Spade Saturday clogs, and pink sunglasses.

I won’t apologize for posting many photos of myself—these murals are incredible and practically demand multiple shots. While exploring the area, we discovered a charming shop called Frangipani right next to the walls. Several people suggested trying Zak the Baker, but we didn’t get there this time. If you visit, I’d love to hear about your experience. This trip to Wynwood was far from my last; the neighborhood’s energy and creativity invite repeat visits. A bonus of the Florida trip was meeting up for lunch with a friend and her little daughter, which made the visit even more memorable.
