JUTE CROCHET MASON JAR LATERNS

Howdy campers!!! Welcome to Crochet Summer Camp, Day Two!
Today we are whipping up some mason jar lanterns.

Not sure about you, but the warmer months are my fave. We love spending time outside, relaxing and smelling the summer air in the shade. We don’t have a fancy outdoor space, but simply putting out a couple chairs, a few cushions, and some personal touches can make a huge difference. I have my crochet plant hangers, and now these mason jar lanterns bring an extra homey touch to our outdoor space!

ABOUT THIS PATTERN:

This crochet lantern whips up pretty fast, but the jute can shed fibers a bit, so make sure you are working in a place that can be cleaned up easily.
The pattern download includes instructions for both a 16 oz regular mouth and 32 oz regular mouth jars. Gauge is semi important, but the most important thing is just to make your base circle a bit larger than your jar. You may be tempted to make it the exact same size at the bottom of your jar, but you need space for the next row and your jar will slide it better if the lantern is slightly larger. Give yourself an extra 1/4″ on all sides when using your jar to measure your base circle.
