Leftover Pie Labels and a Classic Pecan Pie Recipe

Pie and pie holders

A few years ago we shared one of our most popular printables: leftover pie labels. This year we gave them a fresh update, teaming up with McCormick and adding a touch of humor. The pie boxes feature quotes from favorite romantic comedies—because who doesn’t want to declare their love for pie on Thanksgiving? These playful labels practically talk back.

We also included a chocolate pecan pie recipe because, as the quote goes, “I would be proud to partake of your pecan pie.” Enough said.

Pie boxes or a pie box template (we used the Martha Stewart template, printing the bottom at 95% and the lid at 100%)
Cardstock
Adhesive or label paper
Printer

Instructions:
1. Print the pie box template and trace or cut it from cardstock.
2. Print the pie labels on adhesive paper and cut along the guidelines.
3. Adhere each label to the top of a pie box. That’s it—easy and festive!

Of course we had to include a pecan pie tribute to When Harry Met Sally. McCormick’s Decadent Chocolate Pecan Pie was a hit—rich chocolate, the perfect cinnamon note, and a wonderful aroma filling the kitchen. It’s indulgent without being overpowering; the chocolate layer makes it extra special. Try it and you’ll see why it’s a new favorite.

Ingredients:
1 refrigerated pie crust
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 tbsp milk
4 eggs
3 tbsp butter
2 tsp McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp McCormick® Ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp McCormick® Ground Allspice
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate with pie crust and bake 7 minutes. Remove crust from oven and reduce temperature to 325°F.
2. Microwave chocolate chips and milk in a medium microwavable bowl on HIGH for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Stir until smooth, then pour the chocolate evenly over the crust.
3. Beat eggs in a large bowl. Add the butter, vanilla, corn syrup, sugar, cinnamon, allspice and salt; mix well. Slowly pour the mixture over the chocolate layer. Place a foil ring around the edges of the crust to prevent over-browning.
4. Bake 55 to 60 minutes or until the filling is puffed and the center still moves slightly when shaken. Cool completely on a wire rack.

Imagine sending guests home with a slice of pecan pie tucked into a box labeled with their favorite rom-com quote—instant hero status.
