Hey look, it’s Blognic! If you’ve been following along, you’ve probably heard me mention the planning for Blognic—a meetup Amanda of Love Creative, Sarah of Very Sarie, and I organized for a group of local bloggers. It finally happened last Sunday and it was wonderful. A lovely group gathered for a potluck picnic in Griffith Park, sharing delicious dishes, conversation, and a relaxed afternoon of crafting. Special thanks to Amanda of Jean & Gene Creative for photographing the event, and to Garnish for supplying the wooden utensils and kraft takeout boxes that made it easy to send leftovers home.

For the decor I made a geometric garland I like to call “Deconstructed Gingham,” since gingham inspired the invitation. I’ll be posting the DIY soon. I also updated a color-blocked wooden cutlery idea to dress up the utensils from Garnish, adding a simple, modern touch to the tableware.

I’m obsessed with the paper goods and labels Sarah designed for the picnic. The takeout boxes read “Take me home, I’m all yours” and “Let’s go back to your place”—so clever and fun.

My co-hosts, Sarah and Amanda, were wonderful throughout the planning and during the event.

That’s me in one of the photos! Everyone brought a blanket to sit on, which made the setting cozy and perfect for conversation.

Jennie and Corelyn from Garlic My Soul joined us—you may remember them from a past collaboration—and Saudia, who writes the aptly named Red Velvet and Whiskey, was there too.

Of course we included a craft activity. We asked attendees to bring a plain notebook and supplied stamps, punches, washi tape, and other embellishments so everyone could personalize a notebook to take home.

Close-up shots of the geometric garland, color-blocked utensils, and takeout boxes were taken by me; the rest of the photos are by Amanda of Jean & Gene Creative.
That’s a wrap! Thank you to everyone who attended. If you’re an LA blogger who missed this meetup and would like to join future events, email hello{at}studiodiy{dot}com. We hope to make these gatherings a monthly tradition.
