Warm Up America! New Pattern Bundle Available!

If you’re not familiar with Warm Up America!, it’s a nonprofit organization whose mission is “motivating, training, and coordinating volunteers to knit and crochet afghans and clothing for people in need. To this end, the foundation:

  1. Promotes, trains, and encourages individual volunteers and groups to adopt the WUA! program as a local activity.
  2. Supports and assists these local volunteers by providing information and instructional materials through its website and newsletters.”
  3. Acts as a collection point for sections, oversees assembly into completed blankets, and ships items to various charitable organizations and agencies for distribution to the homeless and persons in need.

And there are so many wonderful donations sent in! But that leaves another problem – one of their largest costs is shipping fees. “WUA! is blessed to have many wonderful volunteers around the country creating sections as well as complete afghans. Making sure these items are completed and ultimately delivered into the hands of those in need gets rather expensive.” And so, they have put together this pattern bundle – and I’m thrilled to have donated the Corner Window Rectangle to be part of it!

“With every $50 donation or more to WUA! you will receive a curated pattern bundle as a thank you. The pattern bundle includes patterns for blankets, hats, scarves and more. Patterns are emailed out once a week on Mondays to everyone who has made a donation of $50 or more the previous week, so make sure to add your email address when you make your donation!”

Warm Up America Pattern Bundle

Inspired by Opportunity

I’ve been so lucky to be able to crochet for a living these past 14 years. It’s been a lot of hard work and probably even more luck. Opportunities show up at the right time – and sometimes the wrong time. Doors shut, and windows open. This stitch pattern symbolizes this ebb and flow – something all of us can probably identify with. Plus, it’s a quick and attractive pattern to use for a blanket! The bright colors of Red Heart Super Saver Pooling remind us to look on the bright side, no matter what!

And while this pattern is part of the bundle you get with a $50 donation, I also want to ensure that it’s available for those who would like to crochet for WUA! but may not have the funds to donate – we can all pitch in together, and every bit counts! So you’ll also find it for free, below, right here on Moogly. ♥ If you want the PDF, you’ll need to buy the bundle! 😉
