Here’s a curated list of items I discovered and loved in 2018. I tried to include a variety of categories—from home and fashion to family and food—so there’s a little something for everyone. These are practical finds I actually use and recommend, and I’ve kept descriptions clear and helpful so you can decide what might work for you.
Linen Sheets
We tried linen sheets from Kip & Co. and immediately fell in love. They’re slightly heavier than cotton, feel luxurious, and become softer with time. They hold up well and get cozier with every wash. The range of colors is a major bonus for anyone updating their bedroom palette.
Dark Circle Concealer
I’ve tested many concealers and this is my go-to for covering under-eye darkness without breaking the bank. It blends smoothly under foundation and pairs well with a translucent setting powder. It’s long-lasting and economical because a little goes a long way.
Home Run Inn Frozen Pizza
When pizza options are limited locally, a reliable frozen pizza can save the night. Home Run Inn frozen pizzas are our favorite—serious flavor and texture that make Friday pizza night easy and satisfying.
Mini Travel Journals
I keep a pack of small travel journals in Arlo’s diaper bag. They’re perfect for restaurants and road trips—stickers, coloring, and little drawings all go in them. They’re simple, portable, and make for a sweet keepsake as he grows.

Something Navy Jeans
The Something Navy denim at Nordstrom has become a closet staple. The cut is flattering, the denim holds its shape yet stays comfortable. The line tends to run slightly large; I wear a size 25 for reference. New collections drop frequently, so if a size is sold out, check back for restocks.
The Art of Allowance
This is the only book I read all year and it made a big impression. It focuses on teaching kids money skills with practical, age-appropriate suggestions. It’s concise and easy to read—useful for parents who want to introduce financial responsibility early.
Kitchen Helper Stool
One of Arlo’s best Christmas gifts: a collapsible kitchen helper stool. It lets little ones safely help with baking, washing hands, or meal prep. The foldable design is especially handy in smaller kitchens, and it gives caregivers peace of mind while fostering independence.
Ancient Grains & Nuts Granola
This Trader Joe’s granola is a daily favorite thanks to its hearty clusters and mix of grains and nuts. I usually enjoy it with almond yogurt as a quick breakfast or a dessert-like snack.

Samsung Frame TV
The Frame TV has completely changed how I feel about having a television in a well-designed room. It displays art when not in use and blends into decor instead of dominating it. For anyone who values aesthetics as much as functionality, this model is a game-changer.
Glossier Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick
This sheer matte product became my everyday pick. It provides a hint of color with a more natural finish—great for busy parents who want a polished look without a maintenance-heavy bold lip. “Like” is my favorite shade for an understated flush of color.
Riced Cauliflower Stir-Fry
Trader Joe’s riced cauliflower stir-fry is a household hit. It’s a vegetable-forward, quick meal that everyone in our family enjoys. I often add chicken, an egg, or cashews for extra protein, but it’s delicious on its own.

J Crew Men’s Slim Secret Wash Shirt
This slim button-down quickly became a favorite for its fit and versatility. I wear the XS in the slim cut, and sometimes size up for a roomier, tie-front look. It’s a reliable staple for casual and more styled outfits.
Gathre Mats
Gathre mats have proven useful in many ways: picnic blankets, art project surfaces, changing pads, and under high chairs. They wipe clean easily and come in attractive colors and patterns that work well around the house.
Duralex Glasses
These sturdy, tempered glasses have been practically indestructible in our home. They’re available in several sizes and handle everyday use—drops and rough handling included—much better than standard glassware.
Butyl
Butyl adhesive tape is a versatile, strong-hold product I started using for decorating and temporary mounting. It grips well and removes cleanly from most surfaces I’ve tried, making it handy for seasonal decor and lightweight fixtures. I recommend testing it on a small area first to ensure compatibility with your surface.
