Artists I Love: Volume 1 — Curated Playlist & Featured Creators

Colorful California Living Room

I’m excited to launch a new art series today. I collect art constantly—physically and digitally on Pinterest and Instagram—and I never have enough wall space (or budget!) for everything I love. Over the years I’ve wondered how best to share these artists with you, and this series feels like the right format.

Art can be difficult to round up because many works are one-of-a-kind, artists take breaks, and many release work only a few times a year. That makes large, definitive lists less useful. Instead, I’ll share a rotating selection of artists whose work I own or admire, along with where to find their shops and social profiles so you can follow them for future drops.

This series will include paintings, illustration, photography, ceramics, and fiber art. I’ll highlight a range of price points across the posts so there are options for different budgets. My goal is to help you discover pieces you’ll love and keep for years.

Here are the artists I’m loving right now.

Abel Macais

Abel Macais Mural

I first noticed Abel Macais through a hotel mural project in Los Angeles. His vibrant paintings, murals, and graphic prints are bold and joyful—pieces I would love to add to my collection one day.

Cindy Hsu Zell

Cindy Hsu Zell Ceramic and Fiber Art Pieces

I commissioned a neutral piece from Cindy Hsu Zell for the niche between the arches in our living room after admiring her work in many homes. Though I chose a neutral palette, she also creates striking pieces in deep blues, periwinkle, citron, and emerald.

Melissa Koby’s rainbow portrait print stopped me in my tracks. Her colors and composition are stunning, and she also accepts custom commissions—an amazing option for a personalized gift or a one-of-a-kind piece for your home.

Castle & Things

Castle and Things Art Print

Rachel Castle’s work is a longtime favorite. We have several of her pieces and textiles—bedding, pillows, and throws—throughout our home. She offers original and custom work alongside accessible items like tea towels and prints, which makes her art approachable at many price points.
