Ask Your Bridesmaids with Ban.do — Free Printable + Giveaway

I’m so excited to share how I asked my bridesmaids to stand with me on the big day. I created special, mailed packages that included a printable card and a little gift — Ban.do bobbi pins — and everything turned out even better than I imagined. I teamed up with Nicole from Floating Specks to design the printable, and Ban.do supplied the perfect hairpins. Below you’ll find photos, a list of supplies, step-by-step assembly instructions, and download links for the free printables.

Because none of my bridesmaids live nearby, I wanted the invitations to feel personal and festive rather than just a phone call. Mailing a little box felt right: it’s thoughtful, tangible, and something they could open and keep. The bobbi pins worked perfectly as a gift and also held the accordion-folded card in place. The whole set fit neatly inside a small matchbox wrapped in decorative paper. If you’re planning to ask your bridal party in a special way, this is an easy idea you can recreate.

How to assemble:
1. Print the card on sturdy paper. Using a ruler and bone folder, score the fold lines where the colors meet. Then place the bobbi pins on the first, third, and fifth panels to mark where to cut small slits with your X-Acto knife — this ensures the pins fit neatly.
2. Thread the bobbi pins through the slits so they hold the card folded and add a decorative touch.
3. Prepare the matchbox sleeve by cutting a strip of wrapping paper the width of the sleeve and long enough to wrap around with a half-inch overlap. Secure the paper with double-stick tape so the sleeve is covered neatly.
4. Fill the inner tray of the matchbox with a little confetti for a festive surprise. Fold the card accordion-style, place it inside the tray, and slide the re-covered sleeve over the box. If mailing, place the matchbox inside a larger box with tissue for protection and presentation.

Everyone said “yes!” and loved their packages. I’ll share more about the rest of the bridal party and how we asked them in an upcoming wedding update.

A huge thank you to Nicole for bringing the printable to life and to Ban.do for the lovely gifts. There was also a giveaway featuring Ban.do items, and the promotion was open to U.S. residents during the original campaign period.
