I entered the very first Inspired Creations Contest organized by Cyd of The Sweetest Occasion and Ami of Elizabeth Anne Designs, and one of my favorite DIYs came from that event. Inspired by pop art, we developed a playful puzzle concept that doubled as a place card and guestbook. Below is a clear, easy-to-follow guide so you can recreate this interactive idea for your own celebration.

What we used:
- Six 8×10 photo puzzles from a custom jigsaw service
- Magnetic backing
- Four white magnetic display boards
- Avery inkjet magnetic business card sheets
- Magnetic primer
- Canvas
- Paint markers
We began by turning an engagement photo into pop art in Photoshop, adjusting colors so each table received a different, vibrant version. The edited images were sent to a photo puzzle company to be printed as 8×10 puzzles. After the puzzles arrived, we attached small magnets to the back of each puzzle piece so they could stick to magnetic surfaces.

Each puzzle piece was paired with a printed place card. We had the place card design printed onto Avery inkjet magnetic business card sheets so each guest received a magnetic place card that paired with their puzzle piece.

To display the pieces, we used four white magnetic boards. A completed magnetic puzzle was placed above each printed place card so guests could take both to their table. At the table, guests assembled the puzzle together. Once assembled, each table placed their finished puzzle onto a magnetized canvas treated with magnetic primer. Tables then signed their names around the border of the canvas with paint markers, creating a collaborative guestbook made of colorful puzzle panels.
