DIY Origami Easter Bunny Basket Template – Free Printable Instructions

When I was a child, my babysitter taught me origami and I fell in love with it. I haven’t done much origami since elementary school, but after seeing a video tutorial for origami bunnies I wanted to start again right away. I was thrilled to partner with Stephanie, the owner and designer behind one of my favorite shops, Baba Souk, who created eight modern, non-traditional printable patterns for these bunnies. Download the designs below, fold them into bunnies, and fill them with candy for adorable Easter treats.

Although Easter often leans toward pastels, I love Stephanie’s use of black for contrast — it gives a modern edge to these little baskets. What do you think?

How to make them:
1. Download the printable patterns you like. When printing, set scale to 100% and select “do not scale” so the sheets print at the 7×7 size used here.
2. Cut out the patterns following the guidelines.
3. Use the video tutorial referenced below to fold the bunny box — origami is much easier to learn from video. Decide whether you want the ears or the body patterned; the opposite side will be white. Test the folds on a scrap 7×7 sheet first — after one practice I was folding a bunch in no time.
4. Fill the finished bunnies with candy. I used allsorts because they matched perfectly, but mini white chocolate eggs or similar small treats also look lovely.

(There’s also a smaller dot pattern available if you prefer; I used both sizes in the photos to mix things up.)

Aren’t they adorable? I just can’t get over how cute these turned out.
