Did you hear there was a royal wedding last week? It flew a bit under the radar for us — our invite must have gotten lost in the mail (Jeff is still salty) — so we threw our own royal viewing party instead. Partnering with OPI and Wella, we recreated a gorgeously themed celebration inspired by OPI’s Make It Iconic Collection. Spoiler: our party might have been even more fun than the real thing.
I love a cohesive theme, and this event was built around the colors and names in the OPI collection. Every detail — from linens to cocktails to little cakes — pulled from one of those shades. I invited some of my favorite girlfriends for the viewing and treated them to manis, a styling and blow-dry station, cocktails, fascinators, mini wedding cakes and an amazing gift bag. It was a hands-on, girly celebration with plenty of sparkle and pink.

We started with the food. Cajun Shrimp was a crowd favorite and also a perfect match for the coral “Cajun Shrimp” shade in the collection. We chose linens, server ware and napkins in that coral tone and filled the table with fresh, flavorful bites that looked as good as they tasted.

For desserts, we leaned into two color sources. First were pink tiramisù cups inspired by a favorite classic — we gave them a rosy twist to echo the collection. Then we offered mini white iced cakes inspired by OPI’s Alpine Snow. The tiny wedding cakes ended up eerily similar to the actual royal wedding cake — great minds, right?

To bring the palette to life visually, we worked with Bonjour Fête to craft an intertwining balloon installation and Of The Flowers to create floral arrangements in each color. The result was airy, bright and ridiculously pretty.

On the drinks front, strawberry margarita was the obvious inspiration. We made sparkling rosé strawberry margaritas for a lighter, celebratory spin, and they were a hit. A pro tip: rim cocktails with powdered dehydrated strawberries for a pretty, professional finish.

Since royal events are famous for their hats, we set up a DIY fascinator station inspired by the sparkly pink Princesses Rule shade. Guests made dozens of adorable mini hats and then had their hair styled with Wella EIMI products — the finished looks were so charming and very photo-ready.

OPI manicurists were on-site to give guests mini manis in their favorite Iconic shades. Nail color tied the whole palette together and added one more luxe detail to the day.

For photo ops, we pulled inspiration from my go-to shade, Mod About You — pink, of course — and Bonjour Fête delivered an updated wedding-arch-style installation using balloons and florals. It made the perfect backdrop for portraits and group shots.

The gift bags were the final indulgence: a bottle of wine with a custom Malaga label inspired by OPI’s wine-red shade, macarons packaged to match the palette and curated OPI and Wella products. We gave a few of those goodies away on Instagram so followers could enjoy the party at home, too.

Huge thanks to the team who helped bring this event to life — it’s always incredible to watch a vision become real. Which detail would you recreate for your own royal viewing party?
