My craft partner Annie and I were on the same wavelength for this DIY. I had just emailed myself an idea for a floating glitter project when Annie said, “Remember those glitter pouches from elementary school? We should make a mug version.” Yes—that satisfying squish where glitter drifts around. We turned that concept into a floating glitter tumbler so you can stay motivated to drink more water while looking like you sip sparkle. Fun and functional!

Supplies:
Clear photo tumbler (many clear tumblers or travel mugs will work)
Glitter, sequins, and/or metallic confetti — mix colors, shapes, and sizes for the best effect (avoid pieces that are too large to fit inside the tumbler)
Water

How to make it:
1. Make your glitter mix. Combine different colors, shapes, and sizes for visual interest. Keep pieces small enough to move freely inside the tumbler.
2. Unscrew the bottom of the clear tumbler and remove any internal papers or inserts. Carefully sprinkle or spoon the glitter mixture into the outer compartment.
3. Fill the glitter compartment with water to your preferred level—filling it nearly full gives a nice floating effect. Tightly screw the bottom back on. That’s it. Avoid unscrewing the bottom after filling unless you’re over a sink. Hand wash only to keep the seal intact.
