Thank You for Being a Friend: Pom-Pom Filled Friendsgiving Celebration

Thank You For Being A Friend Friendsgiving Celebration

I’m so excited to share our Friendsgiving celebration! This year we wanted something colorful and reusable — decorations that make a statement for the party but can be stored or repurposed afterward.

With a color palette inspired by IZZE’s vibrant flavors, we created ombré place settings, a pom-pom chandelier, playful yarn cornucopias, and a warm “Thank You For Being A Friend” theme. Using bright, coordinated hues gave the table a cohesive, fun look while letting each guest choose a seat based on their favorite flavor.

I’ve been obsessed with monochrome styling lately, so we made each place setting a single color and mixed different colors across the table. IZZE’s bright tones were our inspiration; they work great as a stand-alone drink and as a cocktail mixer. Plus, with no added sugar, no preservatives, and no artificial sweeteners, they’re an easy, feel-good option for guests.

To finish the look we dip-dyed placemats and sprayed simple clear glasses with non-toxic paint for a pop of color.

We also made pom-pom napkin rings. They’re simple and charming: three pom-poms and one tassel tied to a length of yarn, then wrapped around the napkin. They double as favors — guests can reuse them as bag charms or wall decorations.

We love adding color to desserts. For these pies we added colorful candy to the whipped cream on a pumpkin pie and used candy letters to spell a message on the apple pie — a playful finishing touch that ties into the Friendsgiving theme.

And yes — the pom-pom chandelier is a showstopper. It might not be practical as a permanent fixture, but reimagined as a wall hanging it’s a beautiful, long-lasting piece. For ours we made many pom-poms and tassels, strung them by color on individual strands, and tied the strands to a wooden frame (we used a stretched canvas frame without the canvas). Hanging from rope created a dramatic overhead display; swapping the frame for a wooden dowel makes an equally stunning wall installation.

We’ll share a full tutorial for the yarn cornucopia soon, but spoiler: more yarn was involved. It’s a fresh, colorful twist on a traditional centerpiece.
