This Valentine’s idea combines three irresistible things: chocolate, donuts, and printable cards. If you want to give someone a big ol’ kiss this Valentine’s Day, this concept is perfect. Below are easy-to-follow ideas for making lip-shaped donuts, pairing them with custom M&M’s, and adding printable valentines to complete a playful and memorable gift.
I had the chance to create custom My M&M’s and it was such a fun process. Uploading a photo and seeing it reproduced on chocolate is unexpectedly entertaining—especially when you imagine surprising someone with a tiny edible selfie. I packaged a pound of them in a small box and paired them with donuts for a charming presentation.
For the donuts, I worked with a local bakery to make lip-shaped raised donuts, then decorated them myself. If you prefer to make them at home, use your favorite raised donut dough. After rolling the dough, cut lip shapes instead of circles—free-handing an exaggerated lip shape works best because donuts puff up more than cookies. Once the donuts are fried and cooled, frost them with your preferred icing and allow it to set. Finish by piping a line of melted white chocolate or decorating icing across the upper “lip” curve for definition.
I used custom M&M’s to create a giant tic-tac-toe board—call it “kiss tac toe” or “tic tac donut.” It’s a playful addition that gets kids involved and makes a sweet, interactive element at a party or as part of a gift.
To round out the theme, use printable valentines as little cards or string them into a garland to decorate your dessert table. These printables pair perfectly with the donuts and candy and make the whole package feel cohesive and festive.
